Who is this course for?

For people who already write SQL and now need to show the result: analysts, developers who inherited the reporting, and anyone moving into BI with an empty portfolio.

Do I need to install or buy anything?

No. Tableau Public is free and runs in the browser, you only need an account. The shop dataset is downloaded from a link inside the lesson.

Why Tableau and not Power BI?

Power BI runs on Windows only and brings its own language, DAX, so not everyone can start there. Tableau is the second most requested tool on the market and the only one that opens for free in a browser. The concepts are shared, so moving across later is easy, and the last lesson briefly shows what the same concepts are called in Power BI and DataLens.

Is my SQL good enough?

Solid basics are enough: SELECT, JOIN, GROUP BY. One lesson is entirely about preparing the extract for the dashboard, and in four more the Tableau technique sits next to the same calculation as a query you can run right on the lesson page. Nothing advanced is required.

What do I keep after the course?

A Tableau Public profile with a piece of work per lesson and a public dashboard link for your CV. One important detail: everything published on Tableau Public is visible to everyone, so the course only uses the learning dataset of the shop.
